We're scheduled to get stationed in Ft Hood this year.. ..lol was hoping for Colorado.. Unfortunately I do not have the liberty to check out rental areas before hand... I'm in search for a home on small acreage that I could possibly keep a horse on.. I don't currently have a horse.. but I have plans for a BLM adoption here in the near future.. Could anyone please help! Thanks

You might get a response here, but given that Ft. Hood is the largest military base in the US you might get a better response in this forum. //www.city-data.com/forum/military-life-issues/

Ft. Hood is far enough away from Austin that I don't know much about it even after living in Austin for 32 years.

Where in the ballpark do you want to keep your monthly payents at? There are some great places all around Fort Hood for horses and open spaces in general (spoken from a 27 year vet), it boils down to how much do you want to spend.
