Anyone who has DirecTV. Do you lose service when thunderstorms roll thru. We still live in Reno and will be in Austin later this month. We have had small thunderstorms (nothing compared to Texas thunderstorms) rolling thru Reno the past 2 weeks and our DirecTV signal has been going out. Thanks for the input.

I have Directv and have noticed in the last couple of weeks that we are having problems with just NBC. It started when we had a thunderstorm and has continued to effect just that one channel. Now that I'm thinking about it, I probably need to give Directv a call.

That was out concern when we moved here (my husband actually considered it when moving here - he's such a dork!), but we've never had it go out once- usually if it's a REALLY bad storm, we turn it off and unplug it anyway.

I have DISH and it's the same thing - a big storm rolls thru and my signal goes out.

The storm has to be pretty significant for us to lose signal. Over the past three or four years, we have lost signal only 3 or 4 times that we noticed (i.e. were recording or watching at that time).

When we lived in Nashville, any misting of rain seemed to disrupt the signal. Since being here in Round Rock, it seems like it takes a REALLY LARGE storm to disrupt the signal, especially the local channels. That being said, I have noticed more "interference" of some type with the local channels, getting a choppy or signal that breaks up at times. Nothing unbearable though.

We have only lost it during BIG storms with hail- rarely if it's not hailing, and even then only for a short while.

I had directv for 8 years and never had it go out, although I dont watch that much tv and mostly recorded via DVR. We recently switched to uverse because with the phone, internet, tv bundle it was cheaper.

I have DirecTV and I hate it. The slightest drop of rain or gust of wind and it goes out. If it weren't for the NFL package, I would get rid of it.
