3rd Annual ICE CREAM FESTIVAL 2009. Amplify Credit Union Sponsor | Events | Roadway Productions
Has anybody attended this in the past? We are trying to figure out whether in addition to the $5 admission ticket you have to pay for the ice cream or whether you get tickets like at a wine tasting.

Is it worth attending with our seven year old?

You do have to pay for your ice cream. The Central Texas Foodies went last year, one of the members brought their daughter of about that age, and we had a good time. It's a fairly small event.

I took my children to the 1st festival, they were both younger than 7 and they did not enjoy it at all. It was our first summer here (very important detail), they were hot and bothered they whole time because it was so crowded!
That time admission was free, but everything else inside you had to buy and it was expensive IMO. There were only 2 or 3 actual icre cream stands, and Whole Foods was selling "floats" so we decided to try them, I think they were $2 each... OMG! It was a cup that could hold probably 4 oz filled 1/2 way... They should've been embarrased to sell something like that!
Needless to say we did not go back last year and are not planning on going back again.

A friend of mine and her neighbor are taking their kids to it tomorrow. I guess I'll find out then if it was worth it or not.
