There cannot be anything as trying as running errands with twin toddlers!! If a dumb plastic car cart makes an otherwise dreadful trip to the store a little easier then who cares. You guys are not shopping in tiny corner markets with barely enough room for two people, let alone carts.

I'm going to leave this one alone - all I can do is laugh at how ridiculous this statement is.

I'm sorry but I have to reply again. Some of these responses just seem to be so holier than thou! give me a break! Just because people use a kid cart does not mean that they have ill mannered children or that the adult is inept and does not what they are doing. I think it's OK to get the grocery shopping done as quickly and painlessly as possible. For me, a bigger cart helps with that. If you can do that without the extra plastic, while teaching them the lessons of life and skipping down the aisle singing "Koombiya", then more power to you. It does not make you a better person.

Well, it wasn't my statement, as I hoped I made clear in my post. Just what the (4 or 5) mothers of twins who'd had one child before having the twins told me when I was asking for their wisdom on the matter. So if you want to argue with it, you'll have to argue with them.

I thought it sounded a bit loopy myself when the first one told me that, frankly, but I kept hearing versions of it (the version I gave was the one that worded it most succinctly) and since I was only maybe going to have twins, didn't actually have them, I had to bow to their experience.

Bless your heart. It is also a challenge to have a newborn, and at the same time have a one year old who IS completely mobile & ready to explore. One is in your arms, the other needs a hand to hold onto. Also a challenge! And I grew up with twin baby brothers, so can appreciate how it is with two the same age.

The ones at HEB are nice because the kids can feel like they're driving. But they're all broken, none of the straps work, etc... I took the twins to the Super Wal Mart today at Four Points. They had NO kid carts available. When I asked where they were, the girs said that they only had FOUR and they were being used. There was barely anyone in the store. They are 6 elementary school schools within 2 miles of this store. Do they not understand that the easier it is to shop, the longer we will stay, and the more more money we will spend? It just seems like common sense to me.
You are entitled to vent, as much as anyone else here who has responded to your OP. I suggest that you submit your complaints directly to the store managers where you like to shop. I'm sure you are not the only Mom who feels this way. The contrary opinions of people who are not Moms with multiple kids don't count as much. Lets face it, you but more groceries so you should make your opinion known.

I had 3 under 10 at the same time, and it was stressful and exhausting....thank GOD for my husband....don't know what I would have done without him staying with kids so I could go out and do exciting things like grocery shop!

I know - usually I don't have to take them, but my poor husband has a serious concussion and is out of commission for a few weeks. But, my Mom just called and surprised me with "Pick me up at the airport at 10 a.m. tomorrow!" I'm SO apprecaitive!

Ouch! Concussions are NOT fun! (Hate that loss of memory/fuzziness feeling, almost worse than the actual injury that causes it.) Your frustration makes MUCH more sense with that bit of informaiton.

And yay for the Cavalry (aka your Mom) arriving!
