What part of town? We got cupcakes for DD's first birthday from annes cakes. They are really phenomenal. There is another place called the cupcakery next door. Located at spicewood springs and 183 so you need to be north

I have always purchased my cakes for many and if not all occassions for years... but I will and must say, that this past August, 2009... the BIRTHDAY cake for my son was HORRIBLE. I mean... the cake was dry, and the icing did not taste fresh. I will continue to give another shot, but wow... not a very good taste in my mouth.

I could eat buttercream icing 3x a day, but fondant just has a wierd texture that I don't like....it's one of the few sweets that I *don't* like!

I have done, and still do cakes myself as well. I hate the taste of fondant, but I do not like working with buttercream. I started making my own marshmallow fondant, and it tastes soooooo much better than store bought fondant.

I am actually starting to plan my daughter's second birthday. I am thinking about getting a plain sheet cake from Costco and ordering an edible cake image from ebay. I am pretty sure I am going to do a Disney Princess theme. Disney Princess Edible Cake Image Topper - eBay (item 360222747529 end time Feb-01-10 05:51:14 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360222747529&rvr_id=&c rlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXF%3F&GUID=1be163ef1260a0b 583d21582fffb0ce7&itemid=360222747529&ff4=263602_2 63622 - broken link)

I guess you just lay it on top of the frosting and it just basically melts on to the cake. Then I was planning on just maybe decorating the sides of the cake with some flowers or something. But anyway, if you go to ebay.com just put mickey mouse edible cake image in the search and a ton come up. I figure it would be cheaper to do it yourself!
