My son is in elementary school and hasn't had his hair cut all summer (bad mom). The problem is he likes to wear it long and the kids' places I've taken him to can't do it justice. Does anyone know someone that could do a teen-like cut (think Zac Efron) on a boy that probably won't sit still without a Playstation controller in his hand?

I go to Shannon at Method Hair. She's awesome.

Thank you, readymade! Its so hard to find a good one. I usually "walk-in" local places for the kids and almost always regret it.

Shannon's great, texastea. The first time I went to her I said "I want something kind of punky, but I don't want to have to style it or anything."

And, lo & behold, she did it! She cuts my husband's hair, and he's really picky. He claimed she's given him the best haircut of his life.

Cool cuts for Kids has playstations (or something like that) for the kids to play with while they get their hair cut.

I like Julian's on Lamar at 34th Street. If David Miranda still works there, he's quite good, but they're all good. I'm not sure what you're willing to pay -- they aren't outrageously pricey or anything, but they are a hair salon (for both men and women -- about equal clientele of both genders), so obviously more expensive than a barber or a Supercuts.

Don't want to pay too much for the boy...his hair grows FAST! But I might try to find David Miranda for ME

readymade, Shannon sounds great. My 'Zac' would love to have musician hair. I'll give her a call!

Thanks, Trainwreck. Does anyone know a specific stylist in Cool Cuts that can do 'big boy' hair?

We love Pigtails and Crewcuts at the front of Riverplace. They actually can play playstation there and I have several friends whose boys wear their hair long and it looks good.
