Wooten barbershop near the University off of Guadalupe. Just had my first visit a month ago and had the pleasure of meeting Cisco. I know the shop and he have been mentioned before in these forums. My first direct experience(fade and lined by razor) was a positive one.

Marshalls on 12th and Chicon, in East Central Austin. Black owned with a diverse clientele. As a Black male, I always enjoy the scenic architecture and culture of the place as I get my taper.

Black barber shop?! Why do you need a black barber? I don't ask for my barber to be of a certain race!! This is reverse discrimination!!!

It is not discrimination. It is hard to find a barber that really knows how to cut African American hair in places like Austin. Hence, the reason the topic was opened? There is no one barber that specializes in all hair types and traditionally black barbers that are referrals have a better reputation than picking anybody with a barber certificate to cut your hair.
