It's quite difficult for an adult sized scorpion to get inside your house if there aren't large cracks allowing them inside. I live in Phoenix, AZ and had a horrible cricket problem until 2009. Those damned things would drive me crazy at night with their noise, plus I was killing 10 to 15 a night inside my house. Professional pest control services didn't make much of a difference either. Although I have scorpions around my house since then, and I ocassionally see a small/baby scorpion inside my house, I NO LONGER HEAR THOSE DAMNED CRICKETS!!! Thank God!!! I recently purchased a UV LED flashlight. Scorpions glow green in the dark with the light, so I'll check for them inside the house at night. I'll only find one or two every month or so. If I see them outside, I let them live. They're protecting me from that annoying cricket sound. I have yet to be stung, but I also use my UV flashlight if I get up at night for a pit stop, just in case. We have a small Datchund dog who has probably been stung outside 3 or 4 times based on unexplained swelling for a couple of days, but she acts normal otherwise, even when we notice the swelling.
UV works great to spot them.
Best bet is to eliminate the food they hunt and then they will go nextdoor!!
