For plenty of furniture offerings, check out Burnet, both north and south of Anderson Lane; as well as west of Burnet and east of Mopac on Anderson Lane. You'll find more furniture stores than you'll know what to do with!

You might try Nest Modern at West 6th and Baylor downtown. Their website (http://www.nestmodern.com/) (http://www.nestmodern.com/) - broken link) has extensive information about their products, so you can do a lot of homework before going in to look, if you want to. The website does not, however, have prices, and I encountered some sticker shock when I followed up about some things I was interested in. Love the furniture, though.

Do you know if West Elm has opened in Austin yet?

I recommend Urban Living on North Burnett also. I think the prices are really reasonable actually. And they have good sales. They're also locally-owned.

Check out the Home Consignment Store - there's ont in Arbor Walk and one in Bee Cave. They get a lot of overstocks from the above mentioned places as well as from private individials. They always have a good selection of contemporary stuff there (and great prices too!).

West Elm looks nice but there is no address listed on their website. It says opens Fall, 2009 so not sure if its open yet.

Thanks for the links
