When I worked for KC Missouri Public Works the rule was that it was your problem until we had been notified about it. In other words, if it was called in and not addressed, you might get some compensation.

Not sure how it works in Texas.

Its part of road hazard which is part of your insurance if you have full coverage;otherwise you'll end up paying out of your pocket.

Back in 1983 I hit a big pot hole heading south on north Guadalupe, going across 2222. Took out the lower control arm, and stuffed the front tire of My 72 GTX, up into the fenderwell bending the fender.

I got full repairs from the city.

I know where you're talking about. It is hazardous right there. I'd do like the others are saying and go to the City with it. They may send you to D.O.T or the contractor, but it's worth a shot.
