In general, I think Austin is a bigger Boulder.
We moved here 6 yrs ago from Denver area...

I'm moving to Austin from the Springs this week! I don't think it'll be easy to categorize the area - Austin's a blue city in a red state. I think there will be some similarities to Denver/Boulder but with better weather (imo).

I just sold my cousin a house in Austin and his family is in Colorado. He said he would never live in CO again because of the weather being much nicer in Austin... but that's not personal experience. His sister chose to go to college in Arizona to get out of the cold.
