We will be coming to Austin Thanksgiving to be with our daughter who is a grad student At U Texas? Any recommendations for dining that day would be appreciated.

Depends on what kind of cuisine you're looking for. You might want to ask your daughter too if she is already in ATX. And I'd call the place in advance to make sure they are not closed Thanksgiving day

Four Seasons Hotel Austin Fine Dining Restaurants : Four Seasons Hotel Austin Restaurant Menus

and

Travis Restaurant - Lakeway Resort
Austin Family Restaurants: Lakeway Resort Spa Lake Travis Texas TX area casual dining bars grills breakfast lunch dinner catering Josey's hotels resorts vacations getaways

both have fantastic buffets.

Both are pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

I've had a couple of very pleasant experiences on Thanksgiving at Mirabelles on Mesa Drive. You do need to call for reservations. They fill up early. As I remember they have two seatings available.

I went to the Hyde Park Bar & Grill (north location) last year. It was OK, but not great. We had to wait a looooong time. It was really loud in there, and we felt a bit rushed. I wouldn't go again.

That's okay jobert, those high priced Thanksgiving buffets can cost a lot so you're saving money. And lots of police officers and other community servants have no choice but dine at Denny's on Thanksgiving Day anyway.
