Hi guys and gals
Considering a furnished apts for short term stay (6 months) in around the Austin area next year and would like to know some input. My google searches have come with a lot of results and would like some advice from fine folks here.
I like the Round Rock area and the area around the lakes. Inner Austin would also be acceptable but reminds me too much of where Im trying to get away from.

Thanks a bunch!

Contact an apartment locator, free to you and the easiest way to find what you need. CL is full of scams and other sites like Padmapper are often inaccurate.

You could also try a vacation rental, many are open to longer leases, but not if you will be here over March (or October depending on location), those are the $$ making months for STRs.

- What do you like about the "Round Rock area"? (which is a large geographic swath of land from east to west).
- There are lakes in "Inner Austin". (actually it's technically a river, but is called a lake in 2-3 places)
- Or are you referring to the area around Lake Travis?

Where will your work be?

What's you budget?

What type of area is it that you're "trying to get away from"?

What type of area do you want? (since in my opinion: East RR, West RR, the LT area and Lago Vista are ALL very different areas)

Where will your work be?

It's dammed and constant level. It's technically a (narrow) lake.

Thanks for the correction.....on my correction of the OPs inference that there weren't "lakes" in "inner austin".

& if we have a 500 year rain "event"....next year or in 6 years, then the "lakes" (lake austin & lady bird) will temporarily (again) be rivers. But not "technically".

I believe Extended Stay does monthly rates which aren't exorbitant; Plus that way you could perhaps get a furnished place for the short-term.

Apartments (or the complexes that I have talked to in NW Austin) are advertised incorrectly as furnished. They have a 3rd party company that can furnish the place for you.
