Hi,
Guide me, please, in selecting process of good area (ZIP codes) for living in Austin. Criteria are:
1. More than good level in-district High Schools.
2. Housing price of the 2-4 bedroom single family houses or condos must be less than 150k.
3. Must be the fairly safe place.
Thanks.

Can you give us some more information like where you will be working, how far is acceptable to commute, do you have a preference on newer vs older homes? But based on your information so far I think your best bet would be to look in the suburbs outside Austin like Round Rock, Hutto, Pflugerville, and Cedar Park to the North and Buda and Kyle to the South. You can use the following link to search for homes in these communities: Austin Real Estate | AustinHomeSearch | Austin Realtors | Austin TX Real Estate

Lots of questions here. 2 to 4 bedrooms is a pretty wide span. What do you like to do? What's the situation? What kind of neighborhood (beyond "safe") are you looking for? Where would your commute to work, if any, be?

That being said, a quick and dirty perusal of the MLS splitting the difference at 3 bedrooms indicates your best bets for a better than average school in your price range are likely (not exclusively, but likely) to be Cedar Park or Leander (Leander ISD), perhaps Apache Shores (Lake Travis ISD), Round Rock (Round Rock ISD), Anderson Mill (Round Rock ISD).

With more information, it would be easier to point you in the right direction.

What school will be "more than good" depends, too, on your particular student. The schools that were great for my son would have been awful for my daughter, and vice versa. Only you can determine that for your own child(ren), but you might check out Great Schools for more information on the various schools, including parental feedback on them.
