Since our two large oaks obscure the roofline of the house, we will light the trees again. We will also decorate our anniversa-maple as our Charlie Brown tree since it will drop all of its leaves soon. Thankfully, DW doesn't want me up on the roof hanging lights! Let's be careful out there!

Hubby is waiting until next weekend to put the lights up. I still have autumn decor to take down anyway so I didn't press the issue. I'm feeling too lazy to pack decorations today.

Put up four 25ft strands of multi-colored C7 yesterday. Our house would look good if I strung the peaks, but I decided against getting up on the ridgelines and stuck to the rain gutter sections only.

It was a lot more work than I would have imagined. Now I see why those light companies charge what they do for decorating homes and taking down afterward.

Shhhh don't remind my wife. She usually makes me put them up the day after Thanksgiving, but she seems to have forgotten so far this year.

I'll get to it next week. I want to go buy some of those LED's, reduce the electrical consumption.

Is anyone using one of the commercial companies to put lights on their roofline? No way could my husband hang the lights so I'm wondering if a) it's too late to hire a company and b) austin-steve said, "Now I see why those light companies charge what they do for decorating homes and taking down afterward." Approximately how expensive?

my neighbor looked into it and it ranged from $500 - $3000 to do the lights.
