What is the framed building on the north side of Steck across from Lowes? I drive by this damn place every time I'm going to Lowes and have no idea what is was or what it was supposed to be. Inquiring minds wish to know!

Haven't driven by there lately, but it sounds like you are talking about what used to be Stripling-Blake. It was a hardware store with a very large lumberyard.

Yes, that's the old Stripling Blake building. In the picture, it's not under construction... it's under demolition. The wood frame building you see used to be the storefront, and the large empty area was the lumber yard.

If you look at the satellite picture, you can see it still in operation. There are stacks of lumber in the yard area, and cars parked in front of the store.

Did they run out of money for the demo or something? It's been static forever!
