This is a list of reputable charities that was on National Public Radio's website. If this doesn't work, you can also go to npr.org, where the center column today is a short story about Haiti, with references under it, including one that says "giving". That's where I got this list.

Also, I gave through my church. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) already had a presence in Haiti (as do many organizations). I am comfortable with that program. You should give through a program that you are also comfortable with, as long as it is a valid and accountable program.

BBB has expense ratios too. they range from 2% to 40% administrative so take a look on the BBB web site to look at the administrative expenses.

We donate to the red cross, 12% fundraising costs, 2% admin (I think)
