I was wondering if anyone could help me. My finance and I are currently looking into relocating to Austin. My finance is a java developer who works as a contractor here in NYC. He would like to continue contracting if we move to Austin. Are there any local tech consultation agencies that place contractors in Austin? We just got back from visiting Austin and loved it and would love to make it our home.

Thank you.

No offense, but - consider you're coming here to compete with me for jobs, I think I'll keep my contacts to myself. Why not telecommute to NYC with his existing firm from austin?

No offense taken-telecommuting to his current job isn't possible.
It would be great if it was.

Well, i've had tons of luck with telecommuting positions all over the country.
Check out monster for telecommute/100% travel gigs.

I'm a C# developer, mainly - but we're looking for a full time java person... around 5+ years experience, and 85k a year.
When are you coming down?

Hi there-thanks for the job opportunity. He is only looking to do contract work. But I appreciate it. We're in the research phase right now about moving down making sure the salaries will be enough for us so that we can eventually buy a home. We both have over 10 years experience in our fields, I'm a web project manager.

I will check out monster for the telecommuting. Obviously if he could telecommute to his job here it would be ideal but that won't be possible.

thanks again
