Thank goodness we overcame the imminent crisis from last week:

http://www.forbes.com/2010/01/29/rea...?partner=msnre

It just goes to show that everything depends on who you ask. Just because Forbes says prices will decline, doesn't make it true. I personally believe that housing in Austin will go up, as there is not a lot of inventory right now, and people keep moving here to escape other parts of the country.

I do appreciate the link, but the OP is a builder posting the link that touts the health of the Austin market for builders.... The only reason prices would flatline is if builders start creating excess housing stock in the Austin. Ironic.

btw - That's a nice photo they have shown. It looks like Mueller.

According to someone whose initials are approximately e.e., Austin is over-rated to the point that housing is going to collapse when we all wake up and realize that we hate it here and want to leave.

It's fun to see the variety of perspectives. I'm happy for home owners in Austin but concerned about the rapid growth. It's very hard for infrastructure to keep pace with all the new developments and increased population. Existing streets were designed for a city of about 100,000, not 2 million (as it will be in a few years.)

That's what really hurt Phoenix, in my opinion. They're finally starting to catch up with the streets and such, but the massive developing also led to their major real estate crash.
