There are no fault lines. With all of these earthquakes happening it's yet another great reason to live in Austin.

Technically yes, we do have a fault line here, but it's been inactive for millions of years.

I know that, but we do have a fault line. Or that's what I've always been told.

Another reason to dislike Austin.

Because some people in Austin can take a major natural disaster in another country and turn it into a reason to post about how much they love Austin and how great it is.

Good grief.....

Such a prankster. Everyone who went to TX public school knows the earth is only six thousand years old.

Define inactive... there I remember multiple small (2-3) earthquakes from it in the 24 years I've lived on it (in SA or here)...

Of course I feel sorry for Chile/Haiti. I used to live in CA so I know how scary earthquakes can be. I was just grateful that we don't live along fault lines. If you look at the US fault line maps, you will see that we Austin and other parts of Texas do not have any fault lines.

I think that the people who posted that it was wrong of me to post this have issues. Be careful of what you judge when you don't know the person's intentions. Very rude postings from a few of you.

I'm afraid we do have a fault line here. Granted, it's very low risk, but it's there.
