I've also checked out Cricket. They seem to be the best even over Boost or Straight Talk. Their website is www.mycricket.com. They have a good online chat which offers a nice discount on the phones, although many are out of stock right now. The rep just offered $40 a month with unlimited text, talk, web and long distance with a $60 rebate on the phone and first month free as well as free 3-5 day shipping of the phone. I would've gone for it except I didn't like the full keyboard phones that were in stock. They don't have blackberry but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I will likely head back to their site soon to see what's become available. Two other people on this forum have posted that they use Cricket and have had no problems. Cricket uses the sprint network. Hope this helps!

Are you sure about this?

I think Cricket is owned by Leap Wireless, which has their own CDMA network. They might roam on the Sprint or Verizon network.

That might explain why their data coverage is so skimpy since you typically can't use 'data' while roaming.

We definitely want good data coverage as we currently have Blackberries and use lots of data every month (hate the Blackberry, though...).

In speaking to a rep online, they said they use the Sprint network, that's all I know. Perhaps I was misled?
