Austinites tend to live outdoors.

Do you mean besides the obvious, bar's, night clubs, movies? A few indoor activities come to mind, such as going to shows like Esther's Follies or Zachary Scott Theater . There are several pool halls around, many are family oriented, not your typical smoke filled rooms. austin tx pool halls - Google Search

There's the various museums in town. The Austin Museum Partnership is a good place to start to find some that might interest you.

You could go to Inner Space Cavern.

I've not been there, but Main Event looks like it could keep you busy for a while.

The Hill Country Flyer is technically indoors.

One of my favorite things in Austin is Alamo Drafthouse. It's a movie theater that also serves food and drinks during the movie! Fantastic idea! Check out their website because in addition to the new releases they have all sorts of special "theme nights" with old movies, horror flicks, ect. Great!

Well.... depends on how old you are!

But seriously.... if it involves anything such as museums or performing arts, I'd recommend driving about 160 miles southeast to Houston.... they have great museums and arts on a far greater scale, it's a real event there.

For Austin, the Alamo Drafthouse is an excellent suggestion, can't go wrong with that one. There's a reason it's expanded outside of Austin!
