Need shopping and restaurant suggestions for Austin. Will just be there for 1 day with my 13 yr old daughter. As far as shopping looking for some places that have cute clothes that are not retail chain stores like you would find in most malls, etc..
Restaurant suggestions?? Was thinking maybe Benihana, but is there somewhere else you would recommend that is a "not to miss" while eating in Austin? Thanks for the suggestions...

You could go down to 6th & Lamar and have lunch at the Whole Foods flagship store (LOTS of choices for lunch!) and then shop at the shops all around that area that are walking distance to Whole Foods.

Or eat at Central Market Cafe on North Lamar and there are a few shops there that might do (haven't been to them in a while, so don't know exactly what's there now, but it is a shopping center).

Soco (Congress avenue just south of downtown) has lots of fun boutiques and restaurants/cafes. Any 13 or 37 year old girl would love it ;-)
