Friend of mine is coming down from Boston to see how she likes Austin, and if it goes well she'll be moving down here and rooming with me towards the end of the summer.

What else is there? I've only lived here for about a year, and I'm still learning a lot of stuff.

I might knock the Domain off that list, it's nothing special IMO.. and add

* Lakeside restaurant, like Hula Hut, Mozart's Coffee, or Abel's... or the Oasis (best view).

* Rent a kayak on Ladybird lake

* Rent bikes and go to the Barton Creek Greenbelt

* Swimming at Barton Springs

* Whole Foods flagship store downtown (6th and Lamar)

* Day trip to Hamilton Pool, The Salt Lick / Mandola Vineyards, or tubing

* Rent a boat or jet ski on Lake Austin or Lake Travis

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot -- The Lonestar HotRod show is this weekend:
The 9th Annual Lonestar Rod & Kustom Round Up - April 9-11th, 2010 - Austin, Texas

Even though the event is at the Travis County Expo center, they do things every evening on South Congress. So you'll find free concerts and plenty of classic/custom cars cruising up and down the street all weekend. On Sunday, they all drive up to Ski Shores Cafe (another lakeside restaurant), so that might be something to check out too.

You could try Where To Go. What To Do. Local Events - when.com. If you plug in your zip code, it comes up with all types of local things going on.

Southern Culture on the Skids is playing the Continental Club all week. Great band in one of the best venues Austin has to offer. Plus it's on South Congress, so you can check out that scene and get some Homeslice Pizza while you're at it.
