On sale at noon. Neil Young - Solo

How bad are the cheap,(not really cheap) tickets at Bass Concert Hall? Not sure I can fork over $249.50 bucks for the good seats. (have yet to go there needs some first hand info)

I saw him back in 1984 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA. Front row - $25 , and that was when it was first-come first served for seats. I stood first in line all day to get my seats for me and my friends!

Great show...

$250 a ticket for a solo acoustic performance? Wow.

I have a friend who hires big name bands for corporate events and private shows. You can probably get him to play for two hours in your backyard for $20k or so. That's 200 of your closest friends for $100 each.

lol

Wouldn't that be cool having Neil Young in your back yard playin/singin?

Yah, well, our back yard wouldn't fit 200 people, (not to mention I couldn't list 200 friends but that's besides the point)

I suppose I could purchase an "Obstructed view" ticket on the 2nd balcony for $59.50......nah.

It looks like this:

250 dollars to see/hear Neil Young
250 dollars to buy trees/plants

As much as I would love to go the plants and trees win out.

Bummer.

"they give you this but you pay for that"

200 of my closest friends would not fit in my backyard!

If I were filthy rich I'd buy a ton of tickets and give them to the homeless in and around Austin so they could see/hear the show.

That would be cool on many levels... I can just imagine the people who shelled out their own $250 complaining after sitting through a concert surrounded by "fragrant" homeless people! Hopefully that would shed some light on just how ridiculous those concert ticket prices are.

I sure am glad I got to see all those great bands back when ticket prices were in the $15-18 range! I've pretty much seen every "big" act that I want to, with a couple of exceptions for which I will probably shell out whatever they ask: REM, Jane's Addiction (only because I neglected to see them when I could!), and of course a Led Zeppelin reunion would probably have me selling my car if necessary.

Beyond that, I'll just stick to the lesser known acts at smaller venues, cause I enjoy it more.

Hey we were there. The opening act was Johnny Paycheck who was awful (according to my husband). But Neil was great.

I don't remember Johnny Paycheck opening up for him. But of course me and my friends (and some neighboring seatmates) were "clouding" up the air a bit with some pleasantries...
