Can anyone give me information as to where I can get/see a copy of the 7/17/1967 issue? I have been to the Houston library and online with no luck. I live out of state now and cannot afford to travel to Austin. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe try the Austin History Center, or better yet the South Austin Museum of Popular Culture -- South Austin Museum of Popular Culture (call and ask).

I've also found Google books to be an indespensible reference for old magazines and books. I did a quick search and at least found a couple of books referring to the Rag:

The paper revolutionaries: the rise ... - Google Books

Community and organization in the ... - Google Books

Thanks you so much for your reply. I'll give the links a try.
I am looking for newspaper photos of an altercation between Marines and Vietnam War protesters.

1967!! J.H.C.

Which rag are you referring to? Must be the UT Rag as the AAS would not have published anything incriminating!!

(sarcasm) Ohh yes I have a copy in my recycling basket right here. (/scarcasm)

You could see if you can make contact with someone @ The Rag Blog.

Their website only has the first 12 issues on line, but maybe someone can scan it.

I have done just that. I emailed the blog and they gave me an email address to contact. I've tried twice but I get no response.

Default a copy of the 7/17/1967 issue of The Rag

We don't have The Rag at Houston Public Library but World Cat lists 81 libraries that own the publication on microfilm. If you go to a public library near you, you should be able to do an inter library loan request. If none of the libraries will send the microfilm, you can request photocopies...

I went to the website that you provided and found what I was looking for at the University of Texas Library in Austin. Thanks a lot.
