I don't know about Austin but in Hutto you can go to Hutto ISD and find job openings there.

Go to the school district websites: Austin ISD, Round Rock ISD, Pflugerville ISD, Del Valle ISD, Eanes ISD, Hays ISD, Leander ISD.

Just google them and you'll find them.

check the Texas Education Agency Regions' web sites
some of them have cumulative listing of job vacancies--not sure about Austin region

but sub jobs won't be listed
people who want to sub make application to the districts they want to be available to/called by...most times you have to go through an orientation class after your credentials are verified--sometimes you have to be fingerprinted (and pay for it)...
then you go into the system
you usually get an automated phone call the night before or morning of the job ...
IF teachers learn your name and want you to sub for them they can usually request you via your substitute number when they file for a sub to come in...
sometimes you get asked to do longer duration sub--maybe if someone is out with flu or death in family or pregnancy...
and if you work long enough in succession, you get raise in pay...

IF you wind up subbing vs getting a job
have some personalized MAGNETS with your name, phone number, substitute number and teaching fields made up
you can print them yourself with special magnet sheets that you can run through printer I think
pass them out when you get called to sub--so teachers can put them on their home fridges--like a business card...

IF you go to more than one district you will probably have different sub number--so many sure you put the right one on magents for that district's schools

if you don't want to do that--make flyers and ask if you can leave them at the individual schools for appropriate departments...like 4th grade teams or Social Studies dept...

PS---run a search on any forum you are considering moving to for TEACHING JOBS and just read the posts
I can't think of one state in the 50 except maybe Alaska where it might be fairly easy to get a teaching job--and I just say that because I know that Alaska is usually under-employed...but also know that getting a steady gig like teaching is very desireable in Alaska to it may be overcrowded as well...
