I had a lot of interior painting I was trying to do around the house in a limited time frame. I did all of the rooms except one, which I paid a handyman from Craigslist to do based on a recommendation from a friend.

Any suggestions on how much painting a room is worth in this kind of situation? $ per square foot, etc.

Thanks.

Haha...so nobody has paid a handyman to paint? :-) Anybody pay a painter to paint? I just need some kind of ballpark on what a good rate is so I don't insult the guy.

If you think he did an efficient job, and you know how long it took him, multiple his time by minimum wage to get the very lowest amount you should give him.
Add in time and a half if he worked over 40 hours in any one week, or on a holiday.
Then make sure you give him more than that, if he did a good job.
I am assuming you paid for the materials, if not add in that as well.
