RIP Norman "Mr Squiggle" Hetherington!

I remember that show too. Such a simple, cute concept had us all fascinated, on the edge of our seats wondering what the drawing would be.

I also used to enjoy Professor Julius Sumner Miller. "Why is it so?" I think his show was called. Made science fun.

Mister Squiggle! Those were the days...kids got to send in 'squiggles' and Mr. Squiggle would draw something. He lived on the moon or something if I recall.

Looks like Mr. Squiggles was like Canada's "Mr. Dressup."

*Mr. Dressup is gone now too? Died in 2001? I really feel out of the loop.

I wonder if any of these shows will be replaced?
(Romper Room, Mr. Squiggles, Mr. Dressup... there was also at least one children's science show on Saturday morning)

Most of the kids shows I've seen lately,
if they have any real-life characters doing the acting, they are "always" in ridiculous outfits
and it's too easy to tell that they are not acting natural.
(makes it seem like programming for babies with short attention spans, not intelligent developing minds)

The rocket!!! that was the best...!

Coldy, some kids shows are okay -we still have playschool and I'm pretty sure the format is still the same - but yeah there are some odd things on for kids now-a-days
