Sometimes but not always, it depends on the individual. Some people like my sister deliberately adopt it to fit in, others aren't bothered by it in the slightest, and others just pick it up naturally without realising. My OH is the latter, he's not so much picking up the accent as getting the rhythm and intonation of it. I doubt that he'll ever getting to the stage of saying Pro-Ject rather than project, or describing a fermented milk product as Yo-Gurt.
