I have been looking into applying at the U of Sydney for their Physical Therapy program.
I have been doing some research on universities that offer physical therapy (like in the US, it's a masters degree program it appears) however I have been unable to find any sort of rankings of the schools. I've looking on the Australian Physiotherapy Association website and have found some great information but it is all pretty generic.
I have not found a ton of information about international students. I have requested information for a few universities however they have not responded with anything. I've also talked to my counselor at my school however they have proven useless!
I am a semester (6 months) from earning my degree in biology with an emphasis in kinesiology. So far, I have a 3.5 GPA (high B) with a 3.75 (really high B!) in my core science classes. I have been looking into grad schools here in the U.S, however, the only school in an area that I would consider is UCSF/SFSU and I'm from San Francisco and was hoping to move elsewhere. I have been volunteering at a physical therapists office here in Portland and she keeps on telling me how revolutionary physiotherapy is in Australia and New Zealand, and how the US is so behind in their treatment methods and just the culture of physical therapy. I'm not a high fan of the medial system regarding physical therapy here, so I wanted to look into it elsewhere.
Any Australian physiotherapists have any word of advice? Any advice on moving?
