I'm surprised NZRugby hasn't chimed in.. he would have corrected you, as he has others in the past, that its Te Reo, not Maori. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Te_Reo
I'm surprised at the answer. It's very rare to hear it spoken. Much more common to hear a Chinese language or Hindi.
It is quite rare to hear it spoken in most locations. However if you go to areas with a high % of maoris, its not.
Eg. Ruatoria, Rotorua etc. It is a dying language.
