Looking independently at the summer weather of Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast and comparing it to winter weather of Darwin; is DRW hotter in the winter than it is in the summertime in SYD, OOL, and BNE??
First of all, summers in SEQ are MUCH hotter and longer than summers in Sydney, despite the possible initial scanning of stats.
SEQ being an acronym of Southeast Queensland, to include Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Secondly, Darwin winters are still very warm but it is the dry season and there is no humidity, so apparent or "feels like" temps would be similar to a Sydney summer (particularly away from the coast), but less than SEQ.
An analogy would like be comparing Miami in March with somewhere like New York in summer, one feels a lot worse with also much more likelihood of extremely hot and/or humid temps.

Darwin is about 19-30C in July. Gold Coast is about 21-28C, Sydney 19-26C, to give you some idea. Winter in Darwin is similar to Perth in summer (with less heatwaves), while summer on the east coast is rather humid.
The bom site seems to state that mean high temps in Darwin in June and July are a bit higher than Brisbane gets in December and January.
The difference would be the humidity in Brisbane during summer is going to be a lot higher than it is during Darwin's winter. So Brisbane would feel hotter.
