So, having terrible arachnophobia, one of the things I associate Australia with are Huntsman Spiders.
These spiders do exist in other parts of the world, but for some reason every time I think of Australia, I think Huntsman. Maybe it's all those YouTube videos I've seen of Huntsman's in Australia.
For those living in Australia, do you come across these things often? I could only imagine finding one in my car while driving.
Have to average one a week. They are nice spiders actually and when one comes out of block of wood about to go on the fire I carry it outside before someone else sees it and kills it. If I see a spider with black, though, I commit the murder.
Depends if you have a nest or not. We gad a nest in our house. I assume they're harmless, I've never had one even touch me, let alone heard of someone being bitten. If you want scary nature, go read up on poison ivy. Terrifying!

Same here, I don't mind the huntsmen at all, but if I find anything resembling a redback it's toast. I spray around the windows and door frames where they like to build nests and that seems to keep them down.
I've just watched your video, those are just babies and quite slow. I'd just pop a glass over them and put them outdoors. An adult would cover a whole kitchen tile.
I'd rather encounter and touch ten of them than see ONE cockroach.
