Is racism so serious now? ... Anyway, I would not expect any educated person to use those words in public?!
There was nothing racist about it. Clive has been having a war of words with Citic, a Chinese government company, for a couple of years. It's not unsurprising that he thinks the Chinese government are mongrels.
If you've seen his giant billboards you'll know that Palmer isn't to be taken seriously. Those partially extended arms and the yellow background always remind me of one of these
To think he was talking about innocent Chinese citizens or Chinese Australians is just intellectually lazy, he was talking about the Chinese government and about a Chinese state owned company who is suing his company.
But make no mistake he's a billionare blow hard who has used his huge wealth to muscle in on Australian politics and only said those things out of his own self interest.

Well, he can claim that as a damage control strategy, but I do not think Chinese people will buy it.
It's like using the word "Australian bastards" and then claim it is only about Australian government/company, not the people. Not convincing at all.

Palmer might be a good business person, but he is a horrible politician.
It certainly does not mean the entire country is racist however, 96% of the Australian population did not vote for his party, he did not even bother fielding a candidate in the area I live in.

I don't know if you watched the whole show or not but Penny Wong who is of Chinese background herself I believe (and a lesbian!) was on the panel and was in good form, especially in contrast to Warren Truss, I think she is likely to be Australias first non white pm she would do a lot better than Abbot that's for sure.
