I have a load of stuff I need to take over from Australia to the US. Anyone moved over to Mass who has done the same and can recommend some companies to me please?
Are you talking a few boxes or a container load? If a container, ask the relocation person what companies they normally use. They're the ones who know, because they deal with delayed stuff and with paying them. There are a lot of crooked moving companies in the US, so be careful.
Do shipments to the east coast go overland from LA? There are ongoing issues with west coast ports at the moment, so you might need to be prepared for that. They've been going on for nine months already. I would seriously think about shipping less stuff and buying quite a bit when you get there. Even a delay of six weeks and you'll have to buy most of the essentials anyway.
Have you lived in the US before?

Chase and Wridgeways are pretty good. You don't get one shipper that goes the whole way. They usually pass it off to their American affiliate who takes it the rest of the way.
As for where they ship to, east coast go to east coast ports and west coast to LA.
Thanks Nugget, we've used Wridgways for a local moves I'll give them a call and find out who they use on the other side.
