Yes remember him, but only the tail end of his term as PM.
Things weren't that great when he was ousted by Labor challenger Bob Hawke in 1983, very high unemployment and inflation etc, so impressions then weren't that high.
He obviously did do some good things earlier in his tenure as PM, which will be all over the week-end papers this week-end.
Also did a lot of good humanitarian work in his days post-office, and he was also a Pro-Republican, unlike many of his Liberal colleagues - including Monarchist lapdog John Howard.
