Hello I am planning to fly into Sydney International airport from Singapore on May 9th of this year. My plan is to immediately fly to Auckland once we land. My question is once I clear immigrations & customs at Syd is there a transfer hall at Syd for an outgoing international flight(International to International)? Basically what I am asking is do I have to clear customs, exit security and start all over with the check-in process (landside) with Air New Zealand or is Syd built in a manner where I can go directly to the gate after clearing customs without leaving the secure area? I've tried looking this up on the internet and have not been able to come up with a clear answer.

You don't clear immigration or customs. It's an International transfer so there is an international transfer desk before you even get to immigration of customs.

Assuming the OP's bags are interlined, you are correct.
