I'm sorry if this one has been done before. So what is your favorite city in Australia? I think overall I like Perth for it's laid back atmosphere. Sydney was a fun city, but not as friendly. I would like to go to Melbourne sometime.

Oh well I have to say Melbourne, but Perth is a close second.

I'm shocked with the amount of interest in Perth on this forum and as a West Aussie I'm quite happy with it.

I have to say Perth aswell?

Perth is a beautiful and blessed place, but, unfortunately its secret is out. I would live there in a flash if were Australian. I believe, it's going to become a world class city through the 21st century.

Sydney is the greatest city in the world.

I have a hard time understanding why people like Melbourne. I thought it was quite unremarkable.

Actually a rather lot of folk leave Perth for various reasons with employment opportunities and a more vibrant lifestyle.
Sydney or Melbourne would be my choice, but enjoyed my time in Darwin also but wouldn't stay for keeps.

Unlikely to become a world city. Outside of the minning and gas little reason to locate here. Besides it having way over priced real estate and limited water supplies many young folk leave to go to Melbourne or Sydney or London for a career.

My vote goes to Melbourne.

Sure, the climate could be better at times and Perth and Syd have that over us, however I like that Melbourne has so much diversity and a focus on cultural activity and the arts. The live music scene in Melbs would have to be the best in the country.
