How about the CoL? Healthcare? Education? Minimum wage? Looking into that might help put things into perspective.

It's worse in Portugal. Public services are bankrupt here.

Portugal is only good for tourism, or if you can afford the private services, because socialism is cancer.

I think you're being somewhat disingenuous.

I'm from the world's biggest economy, the US. I was born (though I've lived in other places growing up) in NYC, the world financial capital.

What was it like living there? My undergraduate degree cost 60k a year. My masters degree cost 20,000 a semester.

I decided to come to Spain because as opposed to possibly having to pay up to 60k a year for my PhD, here it's like 100 euros.

The United States is a high crime society, we have the world's largest number of people incarcerated, there are serious racial problems, we have high levels of suicide and homicide, etc.

Back to Portugal, it certainly is better off than Latin America, Africa, and most of Asia, meaning most of the world.

Most of the world, and most of Europe learns to get by on comparatively little money. Watching TV with it's ridiculous fabulous lifestyles is not going to be the reality for most people.

Portugal has to be comparable with Europe, because Portugal is an European country, not an african ou latin american country.

Portugal is a developed country and a good country for World standards, but a poor country for European standards.

The problem with this country is too much socialism because socialism is a cancer for a fair society.

Glad you admit that.

All European nations have their issues, with vary from nation to nation.

And there is no EU nation that doesn't have socialism as a significant part of it's politics.

The first EU nation to have public healthcare was Britain, and from there it spread.

Germany spends quite a bit on public transportation to the point where any small German city has some sort of rail service. Gotta keep German factory workers employed. This is just an example of direct government subsidies.

You're really looking at the wrong continent.

True. And I'm a Spanish citizen. Yes, people can be dual citizens, and yes I live in Spain.

Portugal is poor for Europe, I recently read that almost half of Portugal s young live outside the country.

many are even migrating to Africa.

in the long run, i dont think Portugal will go anywhere…. Brazil is gonna pass it once it solves it inequality.

Post the statistical links or it’s false information.

Portugal is a part of the EU and has access to resources Brazil
And Africa don’t.

Brazil is a crime ridden, unsafe place. Put it like this large numbers of white People will not move to Africa. For safety reasons alone.

On safety alone Portugal has any place in Latin America beat.

You actually have much better infrastructure there than anywhere in Latin America. Abd tbe unemployment is lower.

Of course as a tiny country, any money coming in makes the economy better.

I'm a dual citizen too. I'm not sure why that's relevant but anyway. I Would have thought someone who lived in Europe would know there is no socialism in Europe.
