I've been thoroughly enjoying our Spring weather.

17.9 C does sound pleasant to me too, especially with some sun.

October is the southern hemisphere equivalent of April, and in April we only average 11 C;
in Toronto we feel lucky every day it gets above 16 C late-April.

average high in Melbourne in October is around 20C, so 17.9C is cold. So far, we managed to hit the average high only 3 times this Cocktober. Sunshine is ofcourse lacking as usual, only 83 hours so far with an average cloud cover of 5/8ths

Just another typical Melbourne "spring" I guess

However some warmer weather is expected next week, although it is forecast to turn right back to the usual rubbish as soon as the weekend starts

You'd have probably been thrilled if you were in Perth today, Coldie ... 35 degrees Celsius. You'd have to change your name to Hottie Quite the shock after an unusually cool, grey and wet Spring so far, although yesterday was over 31 degrees. Last weekend and earlier in the week was freezing. Now this.

It really was great weather today to be down on the beach

I have always thought that Perth only gets 2 seasons, Summer and Winter
Now that the wet weather has stopped we get 6 months of cloudless sunshine
I really don't think Perth gets a true Spring / Autumn weather

To be honest, I'm really excited that it's not been getting too warm early here and that we've had rain, and good rain. There's been plenty of sunshine and some good rain and I feel a whole lot better about the coming Summer because of it. And I like Spring anyway and this one is helping me acclimatize to North East USA in the Fall. WHICH is already having SNOW!!!!!

With low humidity, (under 40%?) I'd be jumping for joy with 35 C highs.

Glad you're having weather you enjoy.
"Too warm" is generally not in my vocabulary.

Are you moving to the Northeastern U.S.
Skin-wise, I live here and I can't acclimatize to our Fall.
Core-wise, not too much of a problem, once you get over the initial-shock, imho.

According to my outdoor thermometer, it said the humidity was down to 18 at one point. No wonder I was drinking everything in sight, just couldn't get rid of my thirst.

I'm not a fan of it. Weirdly it's like 25C, much better.
