Actually it is. See above comment. Days arent warm, too many crappy autumnal 20-25C days with cloud. Hot weather in Melbourne only comes in isolated blocks of 1-3 days.

Summer already ended in November.
min of 11 is about normal for this time of year. In England that would be a nice, warm summer's night, lol.

20-25 isn't unpleasant. But yes, I do hate the hot/cold pattern there in summer.

It'd be a chilly summer night in Toronto.
I think we went 40+ days without a low reaching 11 C;
when they did, the weather girl said "...BRRR!!! It's cold outside!..." that morning.

20-25 C and cloudcover (dark?) sounds 'kinda yucky' for summer.
With bright sun it would be nice though, making it easily feels 5+ C warmer; even better in a parked car.

Melbourne's December average low is actually around 14C, which is still pathetic and unbeleivably cold. An average summer low should be around 20C for it to be comfortable for nocturnal outdoor activities and for feeling like summer when you walk outside at 6am

Yes, it is dark when it is overcrappycast. By 6pm, you could be fooled into believing the sun is setting, even though it is still over 2 hours from doing so.

SAB overstating Melbourne's warmth, stranger things have happened!

Climate statistics for Australian locations

Melbourne's December minimum is just 12.9C. It's ranged from 4.4C to 26.6C.

SAB, if you really had a summer lows consistently at or above 20C, I can assure you it is not as romantic as it sounds.

In Perth, you wouldn't have to sit in a parked car in the summer to feel warm, Coldie. Not unless you wanted to roast yourself to death. It's hot enough already outside of the car. This morning it hit 30C at 8am. They said the low last night was 19C. Yeah, right.

Blindingly sunny too.

What I meant was on a 20-25 C afternoon,
sometimes it does feel nicer sitting in a car than being outdoors like in Melbourne; hence relevance to SAB's comment.

Your temps sound good; I'm not thrilled with summer mornings under 18 C.
Imho, even 30 C at 8 am is no big deal if the humidity is under 50%.

Summer lows from 20-23 C are actually my idea of textbook-perfection when it's muggy;
just low enough it doesn't feel 'hot' while the sun evaporates the morning-dew.

In England, the July/August low in London is 13c/55f for your information. Even here in Buxton, Derbyshire (1,100ft AMSL) the average low in August is more than 11c. I would call a "nice warm summer's night" a low of 18c/64f or warmer. "lol". In January 2008 we had a LOW temperature of 11c/52f on 20th. Shows what you "don't" know. Oh and January's our winter in case you didn't know.
