I am in my mid-twenties and will be in Melbourne for 4 years. I am wondering the different neighborhoods that will be best to live in.

As of right now, I am going to Monash so I was thinking a suburb on the east. I may be going to University of Melbourne. I haven't found out for sure yet.

What is the difference between St. Kilda, Richmond, and Fitzroy. Which would you recommend?

Are there cool cafes and things to do during the day/night in all these areas?

Thanks for any help.

there is quite a difference between monash & melbourne uni in terms of location. So I suggest first sorting out where you're studying.

St Kilda, richmond & Fitzroy are all inner-city... they are all great areas. St Kilda is my favourite Melbourne area - cafes/bars/pubs a plenty.
