Because it saved NASCAR from throwing out one of it's imaginary debris flags to bring the field back together. I can't believe that they actually let the race end with Carl the winner. I guess they figured there was no way Johnson was going to catch up to go for the win so they threw a bone to Roush.

Yeah right.

After looking around a bit, turns out JM did get a one lap penalty for intentionally bringing out the caution. The buffoons in the booth just didn't mention it.
