I don't blame him. This is just petty and stupid on NASCAR's part. If they're worried about bad press they should concentrate on fixing the product instead of acting like the gestapo. Hamlin's just vocalizing what most have already seen. The Gen6 car has been a turd thus far. It'll probably get better, but it's nowhere near the silver bullet NASCAR hyped it up to be.
I'm not a Hamlin fan, but I do support him in his stance. NASCAR is really going down hill. Me and a few co-workers have decided to boycott NASCAR this weekend and a few said they won't watch at all anymore.
That's right!!! NASCAR should have left crap alone!!!! Bring back the days of old when you could be several laps down and still finish in the top 10 !!!! Yeahhhhh! Exciting stuff!!!!
Forget the boycott US, just quit watching..............pleeeeassse.

The biggest difference between NASCAR then and now is parity. You take today's parity and apply it to the pre-1982 downsized chassis the racing would be infinitely better than it is now. The cars are too damn heavy to be so frickin aero dependent. Either drop the cars down to about 2250lbs or drop the front air dam and side skirts.

Seeing the cars bounce up and down on the bumps years ago looked cool and made for better racing IMO.
Bascially I wish him luck> now days he should just appeal which is now its now. Truth is this isn't your ole NASCAR anymore and it a bi time money sport with sponsors who don't like controversy.Last i heard only Johnson has only one speosor now days. paying the bills.
Reckon NASCAR will fine Hamlin again for his remarks about NOT paying the fine!? Those were far worse than his comments about the GEN 6 car!
I am not a big Hamlin fan myself but I am with him on this. I remember his post race interview and he said exactly WHAT I was thinking. I appreciate sincere comments like that and would have never dreamed that NASCAR would take offense... Nothing he said was that harsh, only that the Gen6 car is not as good as last years car.. so what! We fans can see that!!!
For NASCAR to fine him for that, it will only encourage other Drivers to water down their comments in the future to strictly; thank sponsors, nascar is great.. interview over! STUPID!
I don't know but it ceetanly was stupid to throw the chllenege to suspend him.His original statement could be seen as aimed at Toyota and his teams abilty to compete on equal level;which isn't good.I think there is more behind this than just the car ;its more about his standing in team.Yeterday's reslts didn't help that is for sure.
