you dont "skim" through the rule book, you study it like you would a college text book before your next exam.

as for it being more work than you anticipated, thats your problem not mine. i both loved and hated the rule book, but i followed the rules. i also found the grey areas that the rules didnt cover(every good crew chief does that) and exploited those areas for a competitive edge.

but if you dont want to follow the rules, then dont go racing as you are not capable.
I wanted to race to drive and not read books.

you have to understand the rules before you can race. just like you have to stand before you can walk, and walk before you can run. only stupid people take short cuts like this.

I am like a Kenyan runner when it comes to racing, so I dont see why I need to take a few steps back to walk, or stand. Hell, I can practically fly.

No, only stupid people need to read rulebooks when they already have the ability to win. I understand every sport has rules, but ive never learned them from a rulebook, but rather participating and watching them. As for the car I would have a crew to take care of it, and they could know the rulebook. I would be willing to listen to a summarization of the rules.
