Really?? Did you really just say this? NASCAR "HAS" to do something that isn't their idea?? Ha! That is so funny! NASCAR is above that didn't you know that? NASCAR is the law--they pick and choose the rules as they go....

Have you ever met Robbie Gordon? He is super abrasive and arrogant. I've never met anyone who was such a talented driver that just went out of his way to burn every possible bridge. He is the type of person that is always on a short leash and on notice on getting hammered for the next knucklehead thing he does, yet like clockwork he'll do it. That's why he's always had garbage equipment and never attracted the interest of the top teams.

My guess is that Robbie wasn't fined solely for that helmet throw, but also a ton of stuff that pushed NASCAR over the edge.

Maybe NASCAR will put up that prima donna stuff from a former NASCAR champ, but not a back bencher who thinks he's all that while finishing a lap down.

When you're great at what you do people will look the other way or give you a wider berth. Take Bobby Knight; his antics were tolerated until his massive ego wasn't putting enough "W" in the win column.
A shop I used to work at one of the mechanics sold unnecessary work, would get pissed off and go home leaving someone else to complete his work, but nothing was ever done to him because he made the shop a lot of money,
