The Sprint Cup series needs a couple big changes - namely reduced downforce and tires that give up more during a run. The 2013 car supposedly addresses some of the downforce issues, but on top of that I think Goodyear needs to be less conservative with their tire compounds. They went ultra-hard after the Indy debacle and the tires are almost too durable.
Need to go back to 22 gal fuel cell so fuel mileage races are not so common.Last Sat. both Johnson and Hamlin backed off so as not to run out of fuel after the last stop. It was painful to watch.
Not sure what can be done about it but, I don't like the gap between the contenders and the pretenders.. I don't like the start and park cars..
There are 30 cars stating ever Sunday or Saturday night that have 0 chance of winning.. that sux..
I hate stupid yellow flags for debris.. but at the same time, I hate terribly LONG Green flag runs.
Sometimes I wish they would have mandatory yellows at every 1/4 mark of the race.. unless of course they were already inside a yellow..
I wish they had 2 more road course races.. at one time I hated the road coursed but have grown to enjoy them to the point of wanting more of them but at the same time, I don't like seeing any ringers.. i want to see the guys who race every week on the track for a road course. I don't want to see guys who only show up for the road course.. stupid!
That reminds me; remember the Unocal bonus? I would like to see that return.
Yeah, that was a cool program. If I remember correctly it was $7,600 if the pole winner won the race, and it rolled over from race to race until someone won it....i.e., if nobody won it for 9 races, and the polesitter for the 10th race won, it was a $76,000 bonus.
Maybe some sort of points bonus for advancing the most positions in the race. Haven't thought that one totally through yet.
