Big fines for Penske and Michael Waltrip racing (nascar, judge, cars)

Penske team fined 100K, suspensions and loss of championship points for both cars. Penske to appeal.

MWR also fined a lesser amount of money and points.

Michael Waltrip said he won't appeal. Is there a bigger suck up ass kisser than Waltrip?


I have no doubt the fines and points reduction will be rescinded just like they were for the 48 team last year because the arbitrator is an impartial judge.

As a result of this violation and as it pertains to the #2 car the following penalties have been assessed:
· Crew chief Paul Wolfe has been fined $100,000 and suspended from NASCAR until the completion of the next six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship points events (including the non-points Sprint All-Star Race) and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

As it pertains to the #22 car the following penalties have been assessed:
· Crew chief Todd Gordon has been fined $100,000 and suspended from NASCAR until the completion of the next six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship points events (including the non-points Sprint All-Star Race) and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

Hornaday got lucky. He only lost $25k an 25 points with a short probation.

He should have been parked one race.

yep;he was lucky he did get what Rowdy did for basically the same thing.I too do not see now MW is a suckup because of this. Its a bui siness decission like others have made.

MW's probably not appealing because they are all guilty. Has nothing to do with being a kiss anything. You get caught you own it and move on.

Waltrip might know there is no case while Penske has one. That is the difference. Plus by going through the appeal, Penske can keep the team members together during the process.
