Yep...race cars on race track and I would start watching the darn thing again.

With attendance like this: http://www.autoracing1.com/Images/20...ontoyaStop.jpg how can they keep this race on the schedule?

Does ticket revenue even pay the electric bill for the lights?

Keep in mind that last night's race wasn't the only thing going on in DFW. There were 104,000 people attending George Strait's final concert ever at Jerryworld.

When you consider that few attend and pay for F1 I many countries but watch free you start to understand that paid admission is less and less the support tracks need. Racing in many formulas is so expensive now days its about television sales and other promotion done full time. Indy car now has to compete with F1 at Austin and which would you attend if just one. Besides which it competes with two NASCAR races. Then of course Moto GP and Super V8 which are just starting in US. Few countries have as many successful racing series exclusively in country has US does and increasing ;so completion is heavy.Remmeber F1 was once a European series but it has to expand. manyy tracks claim they lose money in Europe now days in F1.

Scott Dixon won at Sonoma yesterday, but Will Power increased his championship lead to 51 points. However, Fontana is a double points paying race, so Helio still has a shot! Coverage beings at 9pm eastern time on NBC Sports Network Saturday night.

Man, I just don't like Will Power. He always seems to rub me the wrong way and last night was no different. Towards the end of the race he was racing with no other cars near him and he asks if he can drop back! Then in the post race interview he acted like he didn't care at all and was about to fall asleep. I was really pulling for Helio to claim the title as it's the last thing he needs to complete his career. Oh well, maybe next year.

Hopefully in the coming weeks Cosworth will announce that they have a partner so they can return to Indycar next year. The new aerokits should be interesting as well.
